- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪My partner phoned for an appointment due to severe back pain on 11th. He arrived on 20th , now with a small 10p size rash around his midriff. He was told his appointment was not until 27th July. He insisted he was in agony but was told he could not be seen by anyone until 27th July. On 23rd, Sunday morning I took him to A and E, where he was diagnosed with shingles and is now extremely unwell, with crippling nerve pain which could have been limited with timely antivirals and appropriate pain relief- likely to become post-herpetic neuralgia due to the negligence of the reception staff. It is not the job of reception staff to triage. They are not medically trained and his experience has been that he always has to discuss his case with deliberately beligerent staff at this practice to access a doctor. Disgraceful.
